Survey Feedback

In our groups we showed how our game is played towards the audience and all the things we have done at the moment and what we will be doing this week. We created a Survey with specific questions in order to develop our game further and to collect people’s ideas and find out which one’s were useful and which one’s weren’t as useful

QUESTION 1 – USEFUL

What improvements do you believe we could make to the environment of the map?

“I would say your game overall seemed finished. The overall idea having that toy boxing inside a bedroom is a really good idea and as discussed before in your presentation bit adding the bedroom as a “The end” bit would make the game overall feel pretty dope. I would say also even though it was discussed already with Jez adding the normal and specular with your diffuse would make the textures standout much more overall.”

I believe this response was useful because I like how their overall response is that our game is becoming an almost finished game however they still can give us detail on what makes it an almost finished game

QUESTION 2 – USEFUL

What new power ups do you think we could add to the game?

“None. You have the ones you originally planned for. Two of these still need to be implemented. You do not have time to add extra features to your game. With any development project, you must only attempt the aspects you’ve planned for. Adding new features near the end of a project will always end in disaster!”

I believe this response is useful because it gives very good advice to help us stay on track and not get too distracted with power ups in our game.

QUESTION 4 – USEFUL

What other obstacles could we add to the map?

“A Jenga tower that could fall over, when bumped into, and damage players vehicles.”

I think this response is useful because not only does it just give us an idea of what to add to the map, it genuinely makes the game more challenging as a whole and creates strategy.

QUESTION 1 – NOT USEFUL

What improvements do you believe we could make to the environment of the map?

“them models and textures”

I believe this response isn’t useful because in the presentation about our game we already mentioned how we were going to make changes to the textures and models so they didn’t mention anything new.

QUESTION 2 – NOT USEFUL

What new power ups do you think we could add to the game?

“speed”

I believe this response isn’t useful because we already spoke about being in the middle of actually creating a speed power up.

QUESTION 4 – NOT USEFUL

What other obstacles could we add to the map?

I believe this response was not useful mainly because if there is no comment to be said about the question, then they should be able to mention what makes the game good enough to have no comment about the map.

I believe what I have learnt from creating a Survey and receiving other people’s feedback is that feedback IS the most important part about making a game because not only do they mention what you need to improve on, but they also give you ideas that you would never had thought to add into your game. They also help reassure you that you’re on the right track such as my game. The audience reassured me that my game does look child friendly which now helps me continue doing what I am doing.
